Bassist

"I come from Dublin, Ireland and am a self-taught musician, which has its advantages and disadvantages. It has taken me longer to get where I am than if I had a teacher, but on the other hand, I never stop learning and finding new sounds hiding in the bass.
I listen to and play all types of good music, as Miles Davis would say, from flamenco to jazz, Bach 'cello suites to a jig by O'Carolan, medieval improvised music to gypsy swing.
I am incredibly fortunate to be able to play with some of the best musicians in the UK, the irrepressible Schmoozenbergs , the wondrous Rock of Eye, the infectious Hélélé as well as jazz, flamenco and Balkan artists the length and breadth of the country.
As well as playing I am also a prolific composer, for small groups, large ensembles and shows."
